'Landmark' Tennis Funding Deal
Yesterday it was announced that the Lawn Tennis Association will be investing £3.3m in Scottish tennis between 2015 and 2018. This will make a massive difference to the game in Scotland and will have a long term effect on engagement with young people.
Tennis Scotland are set to review their organisation internally and will be presenting a new strategy in 2015 for Tennis over the coming the coming years.
This agreement will make Tennis Scotland more financially flexible, they will be able to offer a mixture of loans and grants whereas before funding was allocated on a yearly basis.
What does this mean for Padel?
Tennis Scotland recently confirmed that they would look to endorse Padel Tennis projects within strategic clubs. This new funding announcement from the LTA could be a massive boost for Padel in Scotland, and as a knock on effect the UK as a whole.
There are a couple of pilot projects in Scotland in 2015 that will look to demonstrate increased participation numbers within Tennis Clubs where Padel tennis is installed. Here at Padel Box we know that the success of this pilot project is inevitable!
2015 looks set to be the beginning of a real boom for Padel Tennis in Scotland... watch this space.
